Fleming's Way Subdivision
When Simon met Tess, he took her out to see the view from the bare section he owned.
Within a year we were engaged and planning our first home. You can see pictures and storied of that here.
Later, after we'd bought the Purple Palace, we saw the potential to share this spot with others and so the plan to subdivide and create Fleming's Way began.

Initially we approached developers to see if they'd like to do a joint venture. Our only plan was to become mortgage free. But after some contemplation Simon realised that the offers we were getting put all the risk in our pockets and all the gain in the other parties' hands. So, he convinced Tess that the right way forward was to do the job ourselves. It was the best decision we ever made in our property journey.
First we boundary adjusted Lot 1, which was the Purple Palace. This meant we could sell this to fund the rest of the subdivision.
And so begins the visual story of a driveway: Fleming's Way

And then the shaping and contouring of sections

Did I mention that Simon bought a TK Bedford truck to use for the subdivision?

It was at this point we found our next home, sold our blue house and moved 400 metres down Old Taupiri Road.

Eventually we went on to build two houses on the new sections.

We sold two other sections and moved a relocatable onto the final section. The sections we sold now have homes on them, so Fleming's Way is now it's own little community of families.
